Each 2-hour class starts with roughly 1 hour of lecture material and finishes with 1 hour of quiz bowl games - complete with a buzzer system. |
Our very first class will be held on August 11, 2010 (in Fremont, Wed afternoons, 3:45-5:45). In the Fall of 2010, Milpitas (Mon afternoons), Morgan Hill (Tue afternoons), and Newark (Wed afternoons) classes will begin. Fremont classes will switch to Thur afternoons (and will be 90 minutes long - with a lower price).

Each class (2 hours long) meets once per week for 4 weeks (8 hours total).
The lecture material for each class will feature 15 minutes each in 4 primary categories:
1) Math
2) Science
3) History/Geography
4) The Arts
The Math lecture material will mostly cover the 4 categories of problems tested on the SAT (Numbers & Operations; Algebra & Functions; Geometry & Measurement; and Data Analysis, Statistics, & Probability). But some topics necessary for the SAT II Math Level 2 exam will also be introduced (e.g., Trigonometry).
The Science lecture material will mostly cover SAT II & AP topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The History/Geography lecture material will mostly cover World Geography and SAT II & AP topics in US History and World History.
Lecture material for the Arts will mostly cover music, art, and SAT II & AP topics in Literature.
NO MATERIALS FEE for this class. Each student should bring her/his own pencils/pens + paper to class. Bringing a calculator is optional (but recommended).
